                discussing

          finding a husband

                                        blue skies
                               lilies
                    rain
cancer
                              cure

                hugs
                              unplanned positive pregnancy test
you wake up

About the Author

Michelle Guevara is a Miami writer primarily known for her poetry. She’s currently residing in Germany with her husband and 7-year-old son. Guevara has an amazing sense of love and a deep enjoyment of all things. She received her undergraduate degree in literature with a minor in philosophy from Florida International University in 2006, and, after graduation, she immediately began teaching middle school English. In late September of 2007, she suffered a horrific car accident that left her with traumatic brain injury. Seven years later, in 2014, after a slow and successful recovery, she began her graduate studies. Guevara earned her MFA in creative writing with a concentration in poetry from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020. Her free spirit, as well as her love of life, comes through in the poetry she writes: writing in free verse with metaphors, alliteration and rhyme. Guevara's poetry is defined by her experiences due to her accident, her comprehensive emotion and her underlying appreciation of life. She has been published for small online publications in Poetry.com. Guevara is currently working on Freytag’s pyramid style creative short stories loosely based on her life and working on the same idea in poetic form.
