About the Author

Renata De la Cruz Monteón is a creative writing student in Southern New Hampshire University’s online program. She lives in Tijuana, Mexico, where she dances contemporary dance in the educational program of the international company Lux Boreal. She also gives free dance classes to the young community through the project Fronteras Tijuana. Monteón was part of the team that held TEDxYouth Mosaico Humano in 2016. She won the Kyoto Prize Scholarship in Art and Philosophy (2014-15) and she had a scholarship in the Talentos Artisticos (Artistic Talents) de Baja California program in the discipline of drama during the period of 2009-15. Monteón also does theater performances with Teatro Molière and many choreographies for the Centro de Danza y Producción Escénica de Baja California.
