Lie to Me

by K.A. Wright

Snowflake glistening in the sun

Lie to me in the daytime
Tell me you don’t recall
But tonight
for one night
I am your tasty truth

Disown the weight of my name
Discard me somewhere dark
Cut your eyes
Turn your back
close the door
then open it again tonight

Lace my drink with poison
Destroy any guilty drops
but tonight
this night
I’ll bleed focus
into 40% proof blurs

Scream at my twisted logic
Exhale when you think I’m gone
I’ll lie to you like falling snow
lies to winter sun
